Getting to know you

Getting to know you is the introduction Squirrel gives the first time you open Aevy. It appears as a sheet over the app, asks one or two questions about your work, and saves your answers to Squirrel’s memory so its answers fit you. You go through it once.

Aevy turns on the introduction per organization, on a desktop browser. If you don’t see it on your first visit, ask your Aevy contact to turn it on.

The introduction opens on its own the first time you sign in, with the headline Hi, welcome to Aevy. It can’t be closed or skipped: Escape does nothing, and the button at the end is the only way out. Each question is a card of options, and you can pick more than one before you press Continue.

  1. Your role. “What’s your role at” your organization, from asset manager, technical manager, O&M manager, contracts and commercial, finance and reporting, or something else.
  2. The assets you look after. The asset types your organization has, each with how many assets it holds. Aevy asks this only when there’s more than one type. With one type, it saves that type for you.

As you answer, a line reads, for example, “Remembering what you do”. It stays until the answer is saved. There’s no question about what to set up next: the introduction is the whole first visit.

After the last question, Squirrel asks whether you have any questions before you get started. A field reading Ask me anything opens under the conversation, with a few suggested questions above it. Pick one, or type your own, and Squirrel answers in place. Press Let’s get started when you’re done.

When you see exactly one asset, the introduction asks no questions. It welcomes you, then tells you what Squirrel found on your asset, one part at a time: the documents it holds and what kinds they are, and the folders they sync from. Got it brings the next part and folds the one you read down to its heading. Press Start using Aevy once the last part shows.

The sheet fades out, and Aevy marks the introduction as finished on its side. It doesn’t come back on the next visit, on another device, or after you clear your browser. If you belong to more than one organization, each one asks once.

With more than one asset, a short note then appears in the corner. It reads To talk to me, click the AI Chat tab on the right, or press the keys below. From there, you reach Squirrel in the chat.

Your answers live in Squirrel’s memory, and the Squirrel Profile tab of your profile settings lists them. “Shared during your onboarding” holds what you told the introduction, and “Learned memories” holds what Squirrel picked up from working with you since. Each row shows its confidence, its category, and how often Squirrel has used it, and you can delete any of them. The memory guide covers how Aevy uses that memory.

There’s no way to take the introduction again. To change an answer, tell Squirrel in the chat, or delete the row from your Squirrel Profile.

A third tab on your profile, Personal Information, is present and turned off. It’s coming later.
